Cosmetic surgery at its best

I regret that most of the stories which appear on BioEdge about aesthetic cosmetic surgery put the practitioners in a rather negative light. They are often accused of exploiting women's desire to look beautiful according to stereotyped notions of beauty.

But they can also do a great deal to help people. "Saving Face" is a documentary about the tragic cases of Pakistani who have been disfigured by acid attacks. It follows London-based Pakistani plastic surgeon, Dr. Mohammad Jawad, as he tries to help two women. It  won the 84th Academy Awards for Best Documentary (Short Subject). It looks terrific.
