Is honesty is the best policy on resumes?

Patients expect honesty and attention to detail in their doctors. Unfortunately there is a large proportion who appear to be economical with the truth. Two recent studies looking at applications to training programs in obstetrics show that nearly 30 out of every 100 applicants took credit for non-existent research publications.

Killing the willing

On Thursday (Oct 20), 38-year-old Christopher Johnson was executed by lethal injection in an Alabama prison after only four years on death row. The average time between sentencing and death in the US is currently about 14 years, but Johnson consistently declined to appeal or ask for clemency. He had murdered his six-month-old son to spite his estranged wife.
