Once again, genetic engineering gets a hammering from Hollywood

Rise of the Planet of the Apes opens this weekend. Rotten Tomatoes gives it an 83% fresh rating, but not many reviewers have seen it. From the trailer, it looks like a worthy successor in the series. What it shows is the continuing suspicion of genetic engineering in Hollywood. Has anyone seen it yet?

There’s still life in the UK’s fertility watchdog, even if the present government plans to scrap it. The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) has announced that it is going to conduct an inquiry into creating three-parent embryos.
